CHATSWORTH based football club Summerfield Dynamos has secured Clinton Larsen as their new coach.

Larsen, 50, a former South African soccer player, previously coached Bloemfontein Celtic, Maritzburg United, Polokwane City and Golden Arrows.

Summerfield Dynamos, which has been in existence since the early 1980s, closed and reopened about nine years ago.

It is one of the oldest football clubs in Chatsworth.

Team manager Terance Subramoney said they were looking forward to working with Larsen, who finalised his contract with the team this week.

“We know he is the right man. Being a Chatsworth team he works well for us having played many years for Manning Rangers and even coached Manning Rangers. It’s like bringing him back home.

“Clinton Larsen is a household name in Chatsworth," said Subramoney.

He said the position for a new coach became available when previous coach, Ronnie Gabriel, decided to take a break.

The team are part of the ABC Motsepe League, a third division semiprofessional league.
