LEBANESE Information Minister George Kordahid announced his resignation on Friday to pave the way for a resolution of a diplomatic spat with Saudi Arabia sparked by comments he made in October on the Saudi-led war. His resignation opens the door for negotiations by French President Emmanuel Macron to resolve the dispute during a planned visit to Saudi Arabia this weekend. Kordahid’s comments led Saudi Arabia to expel Lebanon’s envoy, recall its ambassador and ban imports from Lebanon.
