GAMBIANS AWAIT POLL RESULT
GAMBIANS went to the polls to pick a president yesterday, in the first election in the West African country since exdictator Yahya Jammeh fled into exile. The shadow of Jammeh, who seized power in The Gambia in 1994 and ruled with an iron fist for 22 years, still hangs over the poll with his supporters pushing for his return. For President Adama Barrow, pictured, who is seeking re-election, the vote is a test of confidence in his ability to deliver development. The initial results could be announced later today.
