DISNEY+ SURVIVES SMALL GLITCH AFTER LONG-AWAITED LAUNCH IN SA
DISNEY+ managed to resolve issues plaguing its streaming service, a day after its launch. Disney+’s launch was tainted by a glitch plaguing scores of users on Thursday for about an hour before the service bounced back online. Disney+ launched in South Africa on May 18 and promised scores of new content for local viewers. But the glitch rendered videos unplayable by users. One Twitter user @Aspirin_amy tweeted: “Less than 24 hr on the Disney+ app on my iphone and it’s showing a playback error and not working.” Disney+ is the latest of South Africa’s four major streaming services behind Showmax, Usbased Netflix and Amazon Prime.
