Navy bikers on a 24-day adventure

AS PART of the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations”, commemorating the 75th year of India’s independence, the Indian Navy Motor Bike team, the Sea Riders, have embarked on an expedition across the seven of the eight states of the north-east region.

The journey started from Guwahati on Friday morning.

The Sea Riders comprises of 31 bikers, including two women officers. They will cover a total distance of 3 500km over 24 days.

The expedition is spread over two phases across all eight states with each one covering some of the toughest and most breathtaking terrains.

The riders will traverse along the

India-bangladesh border, visiting historical Unakoti sculptures, Keibul Lamjao National Park, the only floating national park in the world, and witnessing the famous Hornbill festival.

The expedition will pass through

the cities of Guwahati, Shillong, Aizawl, Imphal and Kohima, riding through high altitude Sela and Bum La passes.

During the expedition, the Sea Riders will interact with students at various schools and introduce the spirit of adventure while making them aware of the Indian Navy.

This unique partnership aims at motivating the youth to join the armed forces.

The expedition will conclude in Guwahati on December 15. |
